Kristy Bird MaKieve, CAE

Kristy Bird MaKieve is the Chief Executive Officer and founder of Evergood Consultants LLC. A social entrepreneur at heart, Kristy builds high-impact, sustainable initiatives that solve systemic problems – thus the name “evergood.” Kristy is known as a transformative leader, a visionary, a futurist and also someone who is able to “get things done.” Kristy believes that education is transformative – for individuals, communities and regions.

Kristy also founded Healthy Rural California, Inc., in January 2020. She led this new and innovative non-profit located in Chico as CEO, building new accredited Psychiatry and Family Medicine Residency programs in the GME-naïve region and leading community health programs. Kristy was also the Executive Director of Butte-Glenn Medical Society and North Valley Medical Association which together represented 10 counties in the rural and underserved region of Northern California.

Kristy’s prior work helped grow membership at the California Medical Association. She led recruitment MBA students as the Director of Admissions to the UC Davis Graduate School of Management. In 2015, Kristy was the lead staff person for raising $15 million to advance mental and behavioral health at UC Davis and UCLA. As the first Administrative Director of the UC Davis Behavioral Health Center of Excellence, Kristy led the disbursement of $4 million plus in research grant funding across UC Davis and formed the first statewide symposium on Early Psychosis Identification and Screening. Kristy was also part of the launch team in communications and development for the new Betty Irene Moore School of Management at UC Davis.

Prior positions at the California School Boards Association and the Japan Society of Boston helped forge her passion for non-profit leadership and general knowledge of how non-profits operate. Kristy was also a co-teacher through the JET Programme in Nara Prefecture, Japan. She speaks conversational Japanese.

Kristy earned her MBA at the UC Davis Graduate School of Management and her BA in English and Art History at Barnard College, Columbia University. She is a Certified Association Executive (CAE) on inactive status in 2025. Kristy is a Green Belt in Six Sigma from Michigan University College of Engineering and has earned a Design Thinking Certificate from IDEO U. When she isn’t working, Kristy enjoys being outdoors in Tahoe or by the ocean, quilting and exploring National Parks (she has been to 23 parks so far!).
